In my initial research, it appears that I am descendant on Favors who lived in the Washington/Wilkes area of Georgia and who intermarried with the Young/Tolbert family from near Anderson, SC. Eventually they ended up in Oberlin, OH around the turn of the century. I can't wait to get past some of my other work duties to really delve into all you have going on here. That said, I'm also writing about that discusses the idea of slave history as a tourist attraction. If you might be interested in discussing that idea with me, I would love to talk with you.
